Overall Comments

Calico has the content to make an intriguing Achievement List, and sadly, it doesn’t make use of any of that potential. Beyond the basics of Complete the Story and Complete all Side-Quests, there’s nothing interesting or fun in the List to excite gamers and keep them wanting to see more Achievements pop.

Diligent – Below Average

A Diligent Achievement List should show off everything the game has to offer, and while the achievements do make you visit everyone and Complete every Quest, there’s quite a bit of unused content here. There’s nothing that makes you experience the Cat Cafe itself, or the Potions offered by Autumn. There could have been some unique achievements offered by these items.

Original – Below Average

Of the 13 achievements in Calico, strictly speaking, only 6 are tied to the Story, although you will likely get 7 simply by completing the game. The other 6 are mostly related to checklist completion, with one related to riding an enlarged Bird from a Potion you get in a quest. This list is fairly straightforward, and left me wanting more.

Challenging – Low

Challenging (Time) – Low, While initially this game would take 6 – 8 hours, the Walkthroughs I have provided drop that considerably, with a completion in about 2.

Challenging (Skill) – Very Low, The game has no timers, no difficulty, no real stress other than when your Horse runs crazily in the distance when you just want to ride it.

Timeless – Very High

None of the 13 Calico Achievements are tied to any Multiplayer or timed servers, so all Achievements should always be obtainable.

Stylish – Low

Calico has the potential to have a unique Achievement List, but it has very basic, boring Achievements. 6 are from the story, 5 are for completing Collectible Lists, and the other 2 are tied to Completion of the Side Quests. There is very little Stylish about this list, except for the variety of animals you get to experience. The Achievements that expect you to ride an enlarged Cat or fly on an enlarged Bird are the only reasons this isn’t at the lowest rank.
