Calico (Achievement List)

Calico Achievement List

A few notes before the nitty gritty.

Below will be a listing of every Achievement in the game by Alphabetical Order, its GamerScore amount, how long it will likely take you to unlock, and a Solution for unlocking it. 3 of those are self-explanatory, but I want to touch on the time estimate.

Completion Times for the entire game can be useful, however, there are some games that need more info. It may be a 100 hour game, but you can unlock 31/32 achievements in 20 hours and may spend 80 on the last achievement. If a Completion Estimate says 100 hours, you might never touch the game, even though you could experience most of it within 20 hours. My goal is to have individual achievement estimates so that you can diagnose exactly how long you want to spend in the game, or at the very least, understand the monster you are jumping into beforehand.

For each game, I will be listing an overall completion time through my Achievement Walkthroughs and Guides, but I also will list how long each Achievement should take. Before each Achievement List, I will describe the parameters for the time frame.

For example, Calico only has 1 viable solution for Completion.
– A Normal Playthrough following my walkthrough, RNG-willing, should take less than 3 hours

You could finish faster, or slower, but for the purpose of this Achievement Completion, I will be basing the Completion times off of a 3 hour playthrough following the most efficient path.

Achievements will have notations describing something out of the ordinary. If the Completion Time is marked as RNG, it is impossible to predict.

Achievement List

AchievementGamerScoreTime Solution
Animal Charmer1002There are 18 unique Animal Types in the 63 Animals scattered around the island, but only 12 are required for this Achievement because they didn’t re-code it for the recent Animals added. You need to pick up one animal of each type and then open the Animal Tab to unlock this. For Animal Locations and their Types, see Resources below. This will happen early in the 2nd hour of your playthrough, after you get the Animals in Clover Coast.(Note: The added 7 animals did NOT change the requirements for this achievement. It still only needs these Animal Types: Cat, Dog, Bunny/Rabbit, Red Panda, Bird, Deer, Bear, Capybara, Raccoon, Ferret, Horse, Pig)
Animal Expert1603There are 63 unique Animals scattered around the island. You need to pick up, or in one case ride, all 63 animals for them to count, then open up the Animal Tab to unlock this. For Animal Locations, see Resources below. This will likely be your last achievement, if everything goes smoothly.
Beach Access502Story-related. You receive this Quest from a “Safety Cat” on the outskirts of Cutie City, then go through a Quest involving Safeena, Poppy and Kiva, eventually leading you to opening Clover Coast for safe travel. Once you turn the Quest in to Safeena, the achievement pops. This will happen in the 2nd hour of your playthrough.
Big Solution502Story-Related. You receive this Quest from Kai in Clover Coast. Kai tells you of a path to the Golden Grove, but when you go there, there is a giant Cat butt blocking the way. Returning to Kai has you finding Estelle to pick up a Lens for the Lighthouse, so return to Kai and use the Lens to get the Cat’s attention and open up the Log. Turn in the Quest to pop this achievement in hour 2.
Complete Kitchen1203This is the only randomized achievement in the game. There 21 Recipes in the game, and getting all of them unlocks this achievement. However, 6 of them show up randomly in Shops. 5 (Cheesecake, Cornet, Cream Puff, Bread and Muffin) randomly appear in Oliver’s Shop, and Cake randomly shows up in Estelle’s Shop. This achievement will be the only reason your playtime could push over 2 hours. There are ways to combat the RNG, but you’re still at the game’s mercy. Check the Resources below for all of the Recipes.
Giant Rider501Story-Related. Early on in the game, you’ll visit Autumn. First, she needs help finding her cat Char (wanders among the shops in Heart Village), and then she’ll tell you to come back in the morning. When you do, she gives you the ‘Big Small Potion’ (Bigify, as they call it) which you use on a small Animal that isn’t a Bird to make it large. This pops the achievement without even riding the animal. This happens in the first 30 minutes.
Helping Hand1603This is for finishing every Quest for every Villager. There are 46 in total, including Story and post-credits Quests. This will pop around the same time as the Animal Expert in my Walkthroughs, at the end of the playthrough, if everything goes well. You may need to open the Quests or Townfolk Tabs using the D-Pad and bumpers for the achievement to pop. See the Resources below for all Quests.
Open for Business301Story-related, and the first achievement you’ll unlock. When you start the game, you meet Mayor Kiva and are given some a Quest with tutorial objectives involving placing Furniture, assigning Animals to your Party or Cafe, and cooking Recipes. When you finish these, return to Kiva to turn in the Quest and unlock this. This will happen in the first 10 minutes, if not faster.
Pathfinder501Story-related, for clearing the rock slide that blocks the path to the Snowbell Mountains. Talk to Maia to start the Questline and you will eventually get a “Big Small Potion” which increases the size of small non-Bird Animals. Ride the Animal you use it on with the Y button, then head to the Cafe. From the Cafe entrance, cross the red bridge and take a left at the crossroads, eventually running right through the landslide and unlocking this achievement. This should happen within the first 30 minutes.
Social Butterfly803There are 22 Villagers in Calico, and you must meet each one for this Achievement. This will not happen until after the Credits roll, likely around 2 hours in, and you meet Rosa. In order to make this pop, you have to visit the Townsfolk Tab using the D-Pad Up/Right menus and bumper buttons. See the Resources section for all of the Villagers and their locations.
Take Flight503This is exactly the same idea as the Giant Rider achievement. There’s a Quest about Flying Magic you get from Rosa, after the Credits about 2 hours in, that eventually leads you to Autumn. When you reach Autumn, she tells you that she’s upgraded the “Big Small Potion” (Bigify as they call it) to work on Birds. Just use the Potion on any Bird and pop the Achievement. I don’t think you even need to ride it, and the Flying Broom you got makes the Bird less exciting anyways.
The Big City501Story-Related. You must complete the Owl Club questline. To get it, when you break the landslide to reach the Snowbell Mountains, take a right when you reach the fork with the white Deer. At the bottom of the hill are Construction Cats. Eventually you will have an Owl Club meeting near Freya’s house which heads to the Construction Cats who wants Bagels. Make some Bagels in your Cafe (Estelle sells the Recipe), return to the Construction Cats, and you will open the path to Cutie City, unlocking this Achievement. This will happen around an hour in.
Witch Way502This Achievement is weird. It says it unlocks when you open the path to the Witching Woods, but it doesn’t. After the credits, meet Rosa, chat through all her dialogue and Quests, then you need to find Mayor Kiva. When you do, you can turn in the Quest which will unlock this achievement, probably 2 hours in or so.

Resources

NOTE: Resource Lists will normally be here, below the Achievement List. Calico, however, has many different things that need to be detailed separately, and so I have created a separate page to cover those things HERE.
